Your brain needs fat. Your brain needs carbohydrates.

Your brain needs a lot of things, but I point out these 2 in particular because they’re the ones people most often try to cut out and limit.
Your brain is 60% fat, it runs on fats, it needs good healthy fats to function properly. Fats like avocado, fatty fish, coconut oil, avocado oil, nuts & seeds.
You also need carbohydrates.
Your brain cells use glucose for energy, which makes carbs absolutely essential for powering brain function. Carbohydrates also signal for your brain to produce serotonin, a hormone that's involved in mood regulation, appetite control and the sleep cycle.
This is why a varietal diet based on whole, real foods of protein, carbs, fat, fiber and vegetables is so important.
I don’t condone cutting any major food sources unless obviously if there’s an allergy.
Lowering carbohydrates and increasing fat is something I DO condone for regulating hunger and blood sugar levels but I never recommend cutting out entire food groups.

Buckwheat Crackers:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup cup4cup flour
1/2 cup chickpea flour
1/2 cup buckwheat flour
1/4 cup arrowroot powder
Few grinds of pink salt
2 tbsp coconut palm sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 apple cider vinegar

Preheat oven to 350
Mix all your dry ingredients in a bowl, then add in your dry ingredients. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out your dough, and flatten, spreading out across the baking sheet.
Bake 25-30 mins, until slightly browned on the edges. Cut into squares and serve with your favorite dip!
